What You Are Looking At

Every project below was built by the ProBrothers crew out of our shop at 7 Blackhorse Ln in Media, Pennsylvania — 135+ completed residential projects since 2009, across Delaware County, Chester County, the Main Line, Philadelphia and Delaware. We do not subcontract the carpentry. The same people who measure your room build the cabinets, beams and trim in the shop and install them on site, and that is the reason the joints in these photographs close the way they do.

The portfolio splits into four kinds of work. Trim and millwork — coffered and beamed ceilings, panelled walls, stair-wall trim, window casing — is the largest group, and it is where shop precision shows most, because a beam cut a sixteenth of an inch long is visible from the doorway. Custom cabinetry covers home offices, libraries, bathroom vanities, closets and full kitchens, each built to the room rather than ordered from a catalogue. Remodeling is the structural end of the list: gutting interiors back to the studs, removing walls to open a plan, converting unfinished basements into finished living space. Windows and doors covers replacement units together with the interior casing and finish carpentry most installers leave for somebody else.

Read the captions rather than only scrolling the images. Each one records what the client actually asked for, the materials and finish used, and how the job was sequenced — shop build, transport, site installation, filling and finish. Several of these were commercial-scale jobs for private clients, or new-construction homes in Delaware where we worked to an architect’s or a designer’s drawings; others began as a conversation in an empty room with no drawings at all.
