ProBrothers works out of one shop at 7 Blackhorse Ln in Media, Pennsylvania, and we have built from that address since 2009 — 135+ completed residential projects and counting. Everything on this page is served by the same in-house carpentry crew, not a network of subcontractors, which is why our service area is drawn by drive time rather than by county line.
The core radius is roughly forty minutes from the shop. That covers Delaware County — Media, Springfield, Marple and Glen Mills — and reaches west into Chester County for West Chester, Malvern, Kennett Square and Phoenixville, north to King of Prussia on the Main Line, and east into Philadelphia. Inside that radius we can run multi-trade projects with daily supervision, drop back for a single punch-list item, and still get a free on-site consultation booked quickly. Outside it — Newtown in Bucks County, Allentown in the Lehigh Valley, and Greenville and Rehoboth in Delaware — we work in consolidated blocks and quote full-scope builds rather than short service visits, so the travel never shows up as padding on your invoice.
Project mix changes noticeably by town, and so does the estimate. Media, Springfield and Philadelphia send us structural work: load-bearing wall removal, basement conversions with a cut egress window, and kitchen reconfigurations in houses built between 1890 and 1970, where nothing is square and the original framing has usually been altered at least twice. Glen Mills, Malvern and King of Prussia lean toward finish carpentry and expansion — custom cabinetry, built-ins, trim packages and rear or second-story additions on larger, newer footprints. Kennett Square and the Unionville corridor bring the most custom wood work, from cabinetry to mantels and wainscoting. The Delaware towns are predominantly remodels and coastal-property carpentry.
Permitting is not the same in every jurisdiction, and it is part of our scope. Across Pennsylvania we pull and manage permits under the Uniform Construction Code (PA UCC), but the reviewing authority is local: Media Borough, Springfield, Marple, Thornbury and Concord townships in Delaware County each run their own review and inspection schedule, and Chester County municipalities differ again. Philadelphia is the outlier — permits there go through the Department of Licenses and Inspections under the city’s own code, with a different application path and timeline. Delaware projects fall under New Castle or Sussex County authority. We file the applications, book the inspections and carry the job through to sign-off; you should not be calling a township office during your own renovation. Structural work typically adds two to four weeks to the planning phase, and we build that into the schedule before demolition starts.
Our home base at 7 Blackhorse Ln. Whole-house remodels, kitchens, basements and additions on Media’s Victorian twins, 1920s brick colonials and post-war ranches — permits through Media Borough and the surrounding Delaware County townships.
